3 points and a rare clean sheet for Beacon
Headstocks 0-2 Aspley Beacon
Two first half goals saw off a physical Headstocks side. Beacons defence held firm to give them only their 2nd clean sheet of the season.
The game started at a fast pace with players having no time on the ball. The first chance fell to Headstocks but the striker fired wide. Beacon should have had a penalty when Francis was upended but the referee awarded a corner. However justice was done as ANTONY WHITE headed home for 1-0. Shortly after Beacon increased their lead as WILMOT took the ball on the turn to fire home. Beacon were now on top. A. White bringing a good save from the Headstocks keeper.
Half Time 0-2
Bamford was put through but the keeper came to the rescue again. Beacon then had to sustain some pressure as two efforts were cleared off the line as Headstocks looked to get back into the game. Francis had an excellent chance to make the game safe but fired wide when he should have at least hit the target.
